My ex bats have been doing fine but one lays eggs with a ribbing on them - not all the time - and i don't even know if it's the same hen doing it. Today one laid a soft egg - I have never seen this before . They are fed on layers pellets but I do give them left overs - veg and rice only - no meat. Should I give them a calcium supplement and protein? Or is it more serious? Also is it ok to eat the rippled eggs? Thanks Nicki

Hi Nicki
Do they get oyster shell too in their diet, as this helps forming the shell?
Kindest regards

Hi Nicki
The OSG contains calcium for them to help develop their eggs. Go to you local supplier, or contact Happy Chicks as they sell it. Your local pet shop too will be able to help you. Try that see if it works.
Kindest regards
