One of my hens is looking pretty sick at the moment. She has lost weight. Her comb is very pale and she is standing in a very upright position with her tail down. Most of the time she has her eyes shut. When she walks about she is very slow. I have wormed her recently and I noticed the other day that she had lice so I have treated her with lice powder along with the rest of the flock. Strangely enough she seems to be eating well (layers pellets and mixed corn). Any ideas what I can try next?

this sounds like she is egg bound i have dealt with this with the help of Sarah, I was told to use Castor Oil, this should stimulate the egg to come down the canal, mine walked around eyes closed and I expected to find her dead each morning, but no she was still there. She did get rid of alot of the egg, but it did take a few days. she was still slugish so I decided to clean he back end wirh a warm shower to her back end the next morning she came with the rest in fact she was out first and then got stronger each day she is again to top chuck with no after effect. I have to say my neihbour said I should have her put down she was that bad, but she kept fighting for life so I did. never give up
