We are new to chickens and are a bit worried about bonfire night- Are the chooks likely to be upset by the fireworks? We keep the cats in on this night, but what shall we do about the chickens? In past years there seems to be a lot of fireworks near us and we're concerned that they'll die from fright

Hi
Bonfire night is a problem for your girls, infact it lasts a couple of nights where I live. Bringing your girls in if it is possible is a good idea.
I have a dog cage which I fill with straw and bring it into the kitchen, it's covered with a tarp so the light doesn't bother them and I put a perch in there too so they can roost in comfort.
Loud explosions close to their coop can unfortunately frighten them to death so if there is anything you can do to prevent that do it a couple of nights during that week. The dog cage may sound an expensive way but is cheaper than dead chickens. I also have an old fishing basket and plastic boxes the kind used for shop deliveries, they work too.
