I have a young 17 week legbar pullet who is out with her sister and thingyerel. She started becoming listless and her left eye closed. Now she has both closed and stands hunched with her tail down. She walks around occassionally with her eyes closed. He neck seems weak as it keeps going back into itself in that she can't stretch it for long. She also lies down a lot. The strange thing is she is eating, drinking and her droppings are normal. She has no sticky eye or bloodshot and no smell from her beak. She has been like this for a week now and is getting no better. She has lost weight so its difficult to tell whether her croup is full as I don't really know what I am looking for. Her small crest is paleish pink. I have given her life guard and High Stability Colloidal Silver. Please can you give any advice that you think this may be?

Hi what is her crop like. If it is hard then it may be blocked and she can not swallow she will still eat and drink in many cases. If it is hard then she needs to be away from food for 2 or 3 days with only some grit and water and give her some olive oil 2 ot 3 times a day and also give her a crop a message you can be a little heavy handed with this but not to rough. If the crop is soft and squashy (especially in the morning) it is sour crop and food has become sour in her crop. For this you will need to hold her up side down make sure her neck is straight only hold lt for a short time at a time as they can not breath. She needs to be made sick if her breath is terrible this is also a nother sign. Once she has been sick give her some yoghurt plain yoghurt but the stuff that is live . You might have to make her sick again the next day again but give her the yoghurt for a couple of days. Hope this might help also has she been wormed? Hope she geets better.
