Hi all,
Odd one this. We would quite like to keep a single thingyerel in amongst our ladies. This is largely because we live in the middle of nowhere and we would actually quite like to wake to a 'thingy-a-doodle-do'. Now before everyone mentions it, we live in a half mile radius where it is just us and the neighbours and we have their blessing so all good!
Anyway, the reason I ask about castration is because frankly I don't want the thingyerel jumping all of my ladies. I don't need or want cross-bred fertilised eggs, and I certainly don't want any damage done to my ladies courtesy of treading.
Is castration a possibility, and will this, in the same was with cats lets say, stop the thingyerel from wanting to mate all the time?
Cheers Justin

Interesting how it has turned c**kerel into thingyerel in the auto-vetting of the language. Rather ridiculous for a chicken forum
