Fleas

We have straw on the bottom of the chicken coop where the hens snuggle down and lay their eggs. When I cleaned it out this morning I found a number of fleas in the coop. What products should i use to get rid of the pesky fleas that won't harm the hens? Do I need to move the hens to an alternative home while I fumigate? These are my first hens so would love to hear all advice. How do I de-flea the hens?

Try Poultry Shield a disinfectant which you'll have to clean out the coop with.

also another good one is Kil-Pest Insect Powder
also ardap spray

as I don't know where you are from I can't be sure on what is available in your area

go to your local vets or good pet shop and ask what is best recommended.

bare in mind you will have to repeat the treatment a few times to kill the eggs and larvae
