I have asked this question before, I have a Warren which I have had for about a year. About 2 months ago I noticed that the feathers around her head looked a bit ragged. Then when I picked her up I noticed that all the feathers off her breast have gone, except for a couple of brown quills here and there. She eats well and is still laying beautiful big brown eggs and in all other aspect seems fine. I am slightly concerned and her breast resembles that of an oven ready bird if not a little red. I did originally think that she was just moulting but fear that this is not the case. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Have you checked that it's not a flea related problem, or impacted crop. When you can rule these out and the hen still looks healthy and is eating and laying well it could be a sign of her becoming broody, I have read that some hens pluck their feather to keep their moist warm skin closer to the eggs.
