 Can anyone help? Whilst collecting our lovely eggs, one was accidently dropped and smashed, the girls thought it was wonderful and quickly pecked up all the mess, but over the last couple of days the girls have decided to help themselves to the yolks and decided to start pecking holes in the eggs

Hmmm its a difficult one. You could try to replace the eggs as soon as they are laid with plastic ones so they will get tired of pecking away at it and they will realise their best efforts are fruitless. They used to sell them in pet shops at one time, try eBay or a specialist hen supplier. I know some childrens sweets they used to be egg size and shape and dont know if they still make them but its worth a try. I am sure they were chocolate or gobstoppers. try that route till they get sick of trying.
